First Generation
1. David Byrnes (Burns) was born in 1768 in Ireland. He died in 1848 in Castlereagh.
David was convicted at Dublin in 1797, of desertion
from Militia.
He arrived on the Friendship in 1800.
David married Ann Reffin daughter of John Reffin and Ann in 1810 in Parramatta. Ann was born in 1783 in Walton on the Wolds, Leic. England. She died in 1839 in Castlereagh and is buried in Christ Church Gen Cem at Castlereagh.
Ann was convicted of burgulary in 1802 in Nottingham.
She arrived on the Experiment in 1804.
David and Ann had the following children:
2M i James Byrnes was born in 1806 in
Castlereagh.
He died in 1876 in Castlereagh.
He was buried in Castlereagh Cem.
James married Harriett Nicholson
in 1830 in
Parramatta.
Harriet was
convicted at York and arrived on the Princess
Charlotte.
Harriett was born in 1804 in Linc England. She died in
1865 in Castlereagh. She was buried in Castlereagh
Christ Church Cem.
